Just arrived.
I’ll try and use it tomorrow. It’s far and away the largest knot I have now. No complaints with my 21-23mm stuff. Just thought this would be fun to try since it’s such a classic, or at least the badger are anyway. Loft is exactly 50mm.

I will! Although it’ll wind up being pretty subjective. All my brushes are synthetics, and purchased in the last two years. I’ve never tried badger or boar. I may not even have the right terminology to describe them.
Browsing the big Simpson brush thread, I saw there were multiple generations of fibre, but I have zero experience with the older ones or with sovereign.

I got one with the same new platinum fibers but I had to return it, use it twice and it looses to many fibers…hopefully you will not have this issue.
It was beautiful, with Patriot handle, and I really like this new knot.
