Received this, to me, beautiful Wilkinson Kompakt cartridge razor.
I already have the grey, metal one so this was a fun, and rather rare, addition to the collection
I love the Kompakt as it's an extremely comfortable and efficient razor - it might look a bit odd but once you hold it and use it it all comes together. Another iconic Sir Kenneth Grange design

With those knobbly bit on the handle, I take it this was designed for ladies?

Nah, wouldn't want to set unrealistic expectations with them.

The handle is btw extremely comfortable to hold on to. If anyone is suffering from something that makes it hard to hold onto a smaller, heavier razor (tremors, arthritis, etc) - this might be a great idea actually. It also doesn't hurt that it shaves like a champ.

Did you find out the history behind the collection? Was it the sellers or was he selling it in behalf of an estate or friend?
It seems very much like a rather curated, dedicated collection and not a heap of random razors

It was a heap. He is somewhat of a hoarder that was clearing out some stuff. It was not curated. It was randomly tossed in tubs. I spent an hour and a half sorting.

Nice. I'd be looking at keeping best examples and selling on the rest, I don't think anyone needs 4 Slims and 3 Fatboys.

Amazing. A horder with great taste in razors though.

Hmm, something tells me that "he was as horder, it wasn't curated" is exactly what some guy will post on a forum years [hopefully] from now after they post their 'haul' photo with my razors, mugs and brushes...

Wow, wow, wow. Did the guy know the value of this collection?! I have the feeling you robbed him lol. I'm assuming a few of these will end up on BST otherwise we will be calling you the hoarder that you called him!
