I Would like to introduce the new and improved Above The Tie S1 Slant, the first offering since Blackland took over the company.

I brought the stainless steel with a mirror polished finish and it weighs 112g with a length of 98mm.
I opted for both open comb and straight bar because I like choice.
The box it arrived with was a lovely quality's and came with some stickers and magnetic hinge, everything about it just show quality.
The razor is just superb and the polishing is faultless and the stand is something else, I love it.
The whole setup oozes class.

My S.O.T.D today consisted of......
Prep Hot shower.
Blackland Shaving Towel.
Brush Semogue Pegasus Mistura.
Soap MdC Original.
Razor ATT S1 Slant.
Blade Wilkinson Sword.
Aftershave Myrsol Agua Balsámica.

I have opted for the SB for its maiden shave because I was inspired to do a face and head shave, I have never used a Slant on my head so it will either go well or be a total disaster.
The S1 completely covers the whole blade and when clamped there is absolutely no movement, it's tighter than my wife's grip on my wallet.
The handle very smoothly turned on the thread and feels the perfect weight and balance for my hand.
I did two passes and a touch up and boy the shave was smooth, very slight blade feel that often disappeared when shaving.
I shaved my head doing the usual ATG feeling a little nervous, but the S1 delivered a perfectly smooth shave with zero cuts, I was astonished to be honest with everyone.
What can I say after my first shave, well I can say I am over the moon with the razor and there is nothing I can fault but I will give it a few shaves and I want to shave with the open comb to see how that goes.
I will report back with my findings.

A solid 10/10 shave.

I will now leave you all to enjoy your night.

My S.O.T.D today consisted of......
Prep Hot shower.
Blackland Shaving Towel.
Brush Highlander synthetic.
Soap 80th Anniversary.
Razor ATT S1 Slant OC.
Blade Wilkinson Sword.
Aftershave Balm 80th Anniversary
After shave 80th Anniversary Edp.

I have opted for the OC today for the second shave with the S1 Slant, with two days growth just like my SB shave.
To my mind they feeling of the razor as it crossed my skin was this has more blade feel than my R41, after completing my first pass I felt my face and looked in the mirror,
It's more efficient than my R41 and I could have stopped there and it would have been a perfectly acceptable shave.
With my second pass this time going ATG it confirmed my thoughts about more blade feel, I can shave everyday with my R41 but I don't think I will be able to with this without irritating my neck.
I did a head shave right after and it was a slow and careful shave with just one slight nic in the back of my head, I was not shocked tbh and although the shave was good, I will stick to my Henson or Osprey as they do the shave in half the time without me worrying about cuts.
My thoughts so far are I like open combs and if you like a more blade feel shave or you shave once a week. Then this is the plate for you.
If you like me, you shave every day, then I go with the SB as it was smoother, and you can be more carefree with the shave whilst getting great results.
Here is a photo of the two plates side by side and a view of the top cap posts that are the smallest I have seen on a razor.

I will probably report back in a few weeks with an update after the honeymoon period passes and I have used both plates more.

A solid 10/10 shave.

I will now leave you all to enjoy your night.

I took the plunge. It’s a no-brainer for the amount of cash laid out. I got both the sb & oc plate set ups just to give it a decent go. Not the biggest fan of slants but, the Windsor is so freaking good, I just couldn’t pass up the deal on the S1 factory seconds.

By the way, great write up @Johnny Bravo as your excellent review helped me seal the deal with the ATT S1 Slant. Looking forward to shaving with it in the coming weeks.

It has been my most used razor since buying it, don't forget to let us know your thoughts. Tbh I often forget it's even a slanted razor because it shaves so easily.

I took advantage of the factory second sale and I loved the S1! I thought is was a little bit too heavy for me so I ordered the Titanium version. For me it is absolutely the perfect weight. It shaves like a dream smooth and super efficient. I have no issues doing a three pass shave with it.

I enjoyed the SS version of the S1 so much! Super smooth and efficient shave. My only issue was that at 112 grams it felt a little too heavy for me. So I ordered the Titanium version and it is absolutely perfect for me. Our bathrooms are currently being renovated so my razor collection is in storage. The Titanium S1 will be my kitchen sink shaver until the project is completed!

The S1. Just a magnificent shaver that truly delivers at every level. If a slant is going to be in anyone’s game, this is as good a one to start it off with. Efficient, smooth and easy to use from day one.
