A great shave from a can??

The definition of a Great, Dam Fine, or BBS is and comes down to a personal thing. Some peoples idea of perfection is not something everyone agrees on.
I never felt of my face post shave to see how well I did until I joined shaving forums. It is a habit I am happy now to report I no longer practice. :bravo:

In the time of my "dark age of shaving" before enlightenment with soaps and brushes, the best method for me was: soaked, then lightly shaken off shaving brush (it was the dark age since there was no one to teach me anything, i came up with this myself because the foam itself was too thick and dry...). I applied foam from a can on the brush and then applied that on my generously wet face. I found the Figaro Argan Oil and Nivea " Für Starkes Bart" (for strong beard) , unfortunatelz the latter is discontinued...

It's... alive!
Slapo's post reminded me that i previously bought some "NIVEA MEN Sensitive Pro Menmalist Liquid Shave (200ml)" in an Amazon sale. (Yes, its spelt "Menmalist" )

It was OK, but a bit runny and the pump dispenser didn't work very well - wouldn't buy again or recommend really.
It did work well enough for me but the pump did clog rather quickly. I think I just ended up not using the pump. I never re-purchased because it made my skin a little numb, though.

yeah the pump kept clogging on mine too - it kind-of worked as a shaving lube, but i wouldn't buy it again.

If you are still looking for kit for him ;

King C Gillette DE razor + 5 blades is reduced to £9.99 in Amazons Spring sale - sold direct via Amazon too, so not a fake. I am really tempted to buy one as a spare, as it really is a good quality R89 clone.

Also, Sainsburys bricks and mortar stores seem to be clearing out King C Gillette products, so things like Beard and face wash, Beard oil and electric trimmer etc are on sale and very heavily discounted to clear. No KCG razors or blades to be seen tho

If you want the convince of Can of Foam/ Cream, with no Skin irritation, think of a CREAM like Taylor's of Old Bond that you can spread with a finger. But if you want a better solution, buy the cheapest Boar like an Omega 10019 @ $5.00, and life will be good.

I'll throw in a vote to rather use brushless cream, or shave butter. Two Dudes shave butter has more slick than the Exxon Valdez - and a little goes a long way. A pea-size dollop will be enough for one full pass with the razor and then some.

Gentlemen,
It seems my nephew is interested in shaving (14) and getting a DE but he’s not that interested in brushes and soap (despite seeing my impressive collection 🤣 - clearly he gets that weirdness from my brother who has a Jesus/ ZZ Top style beard).

Are there any better than average shaves from a can readily available in the UK? (Naturally I shall eventually make him see the error of his ways and follow his cool uncle 😎😁 but in the meantime…).
Show him your Grooming Dept collection 🤣🤣

But... Dark age is now, with soaps & brushes

L'Occitane Cade shaving gel in a can is the best I've used. Initially behaves much like any canned gel but once it's on your face you can keep adding water to it for added slickness without it collapsing like regular canned foam... It feels more like a proper shaving soap lather. Shaving once a week a can lasted me nearly a year so not bad value really.

Can Foams don't last like Soap or Creams.

You can get a CHEAP Boar Brush for $5.00.

Mine is the Omega 10019, it is MY BRAIL BRUSH.
