I've no idea about why the lining would be red, but the razor and the case seem to be in excellent shape.I had this lovely Ever Ready Jewel arrive today. Most I've seen have a purple lining. Anybody know why this one has a red lining?

Always have to bear mis matches in mind but in this case I'd have to say the razor is correct. You have to consider thar the razor and case may not match. If the case is a standard Ever-Ready, there are a number of razors that may look right, but are just dropped in.
Also, why do you call it a Jewel?
There's an Ever-Ready 1912 case with a red lining that looks similar to the one OP and I have, but it is not as ornate in its design on the top of the case. You have to consider thar the razor and case may not match. Seems I'm a few steps behind you on the hunt! Let me know when you find a toggle or a bottom dial and I'll keep my eye out!As we previously discussed, it is so odd that we both managed to find these razors in the wild within a few weeks of each other. I had never seen pictures of the red lining online before, but I am near 100% confident that we have original, correct sets. I wonder if anyone else on ATG has this set..
I know what you're saying. The razors are all pretty much the same and the general, common name this razor is referred to by is the streamline. If it wasnt in this case I'd call it a streamline as well. Looking at the picture below, the back 3 in clamshell cases were sold as streamline, the front left as ambassador and the front right as Jewel. So it's only really a streamline if it's in a streamline case. But the razor is exactly the same - it’s a streamline.
Does yours have machine chased Top.Will look mine out now. They get their name from the case they are marketed in.,but commonly called a StreamlineThere's an Ever-Ready 1912 case with a red lining that looks similar to the one OP and I have, but it is not as ornate in its design on the top of the case.
The top of a Jewel case should look like this. There are some 1912 cases that are quite similar in terms of dimensions, but none are this fancy on top.Does yours have machine chased Top.Will look mine out now. They get their name from the case they are marketed in.,but commonly called a Streamline

Is there something in the water that makes us blokes fro Stoke collect “Streamline” type Razors. Was one of my first SEs and I really learnt SE Shaving with it.@MPF9 yeah it's got the chased top to the case.
