Ever Ready Jewel

As we previously discussed, it is so odd that we both managed to find these razors in the wild within a few weeks of each other. I had never seen pictures of the red lining online before, but I am near 100% confident that we have original, correct sets. I wonder if anyone else on ATG has this set..

You have to consider thar the razor and case may not match. If the case is a standard Ever-Ready, there are a number of razors that may look right, but are just dropped in.

Also, why do you call it a Jewel?

Always have to bear mis matches in mind but in this case I'd have to say the razor is correct.

It's a Jewel as that is how Ever Ready sold this razor when in this case, as opposed to the Streamline or the ambassador.

There's an Ever-Ready 1912 case with a red lining that looks similar to the one OP and I have, but it is not as ornate in its design on the top of the case.

Seems I'm a few steps behind you on the hunt! Let me know when you find a toggle or a bottom dial and I'll keep my eye out!

But the razor is exactly the same - it’s a streamline.
I know what you're saying. The razors are all pretty much the same and the general, common name this razor is referred to by is the streamline. If it wasnt in this case I'd call it a streamline as well. Looking at the picture below, the back 3 in clamshell cases were sold as streamline, the front left as ambassador and the front right as Jewel. So it's only really a streamline if it's in a streamline case.

Does yours have machine chased Top.Will look mine out now. They get their name from the case they are marketed in.,but commonly called a Streamline
The top of a Jewel case should look like this. There are some 1912 cases that are quite similar in terms of dimensions, but none are this fancy on top.

The double Clamshell was I think called something like ER Chrome Razor and Stropping Set.You have not said if the case with the Red lining had The chased top.

A. I have Two Razors in The Chased case, which when sold the Cardboard Box referred to them as Jewels, shame I have not a box.
B. I also have this Razor in a Chased box, which is called " New Jewel and Combination Set", I do have a Leather Case which was made to go with this set. Think this Set is quite rare.
