What was your most memorable shave?

Friday 12th February 2016 - around 5pm. Over a marble sink in a cavernous bathroom in a grand old country house, I was shaving whilst rehearsing the proposal that I had meticulously planned for later that evening. She said 'Yes', so the shave sticks in my head for the right reasons! I suppose that I should begin to plan out my shave for the morning of Saturday 3rd December...

I can't beat the above post - but hey, that isn't the point?

I've had lots of great shaves, but the most memorable was the morning (a few years ago now) where I stood in front of the mirror, first straight razor in hand, thinking "what on earth am I doing!" - after all, for over a century people have been inventing safer ways to remove facial hair!!!

20 (or so) minutes later - I had completed the shave (if i am totally honest - it wasn't great) - but I hadn't scarred or lacerated myself. The sense of achievement was enormous...

I think when I switched to DE razors for the first time after decades of using a combination of electric and disposable razors.

It was an EJ DE89 (that seems to be the gateway razor for many wetshavers before they disappear down the rabbit hole). Still have it. Need to dig it out and have a nostalgic shave one of these days...
