You're saying that the aftershave IS the tobacco scent? Perf! I'm going to get my local fragrance store to order it. I haven't found it before. Just the ones listed below.

I haven't tried SMN for the simple reason of the effort to get it, if I can't just PayPal/Apple Pay someone some money I tend to not be arsed. It is on my list at some point, probably when I'm in London next.

I have had a few perfect shaves this year. You step back from the sink and think to yourself wow it is worth it. Then you slyly look at the rest of the collection and think hmm your on limited time.
What I've learnt is that soap over cream and stainless (exception given to SE razors) razors are my preference. I find soaps slicker and stainless razors to limit loose tolerances and blade movement. Aftershaves have also been narrowed down including aftershave balms. With regards to brushes, these are now nailed down. It is one in one out now. With the exception of one boar that I've thrown into a PIF, 2 band badger is my ultimate.

OK, so I have form...but this time I mean it!
To be honest that's why it took me so long to get round to it - a bad (and costly!) habit of mine is to see something I want, and then not get it because it's too difficult to obtain or too expensive. In the meantime I spend a small fortune on other stuff, so it ends up costing me more...ah well...we live and learn (the latter being 'sometimes' in my case

I blame my dad @halvor - I remember him wanting a Barbour jacket, but he thought £200 was too expensive, so he got a cheaper one...plus another jacket...plus another...by the time he'd done he'd spent £400 on jackets he didn't really want, and still coverted a Barbour...I'm hoping by the time I get to his age I will have learned (I will, I will, I will! )

I have yet to try a Rockwell razor, but the Rocnel SE-P is just about there, the only exception being loading it if the blade's had the tabs snapped off. The Windrose slant is a close runner up. The DE42 has a bit more bite, but along with the SE-P OC, the Single Edge, Merkur 45, iKon 101 and the Alfa, they are close behind.
As for the brush, the Stirling 26mm (non-Kong) is just about perfect. So dense that even though the tips are very, very soft, it still has plenty of backbone it to tackle pretty much any soap with ease.
