Razor: Vintage Gillette - 1947 Super Speed No Notch - DE Safety Razor - Made in U.S.A.
Blade: REX Supply - AKA Razor Emporium - Platinum - Double Edge Blades.
Bowl: Lathered in AliExpress - Chinese Made - Navy Ceramic Lathering Bowl.
Soap/Cream: Razor Emporium - 2024 Meetup - Limited Edition - Shave Soap Sample - Made in U.S.A.
Brush/Instrument: Whipped Dog - Silver Tip Badger Brush - 24 mm Knot, & 56 mm Loft.
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel.
Shave Rating: DAM FINE SHAVE, VERY Close to BBS as you could want.

Comments: Using a Gillette Vintage Razor, with a REX Supply - AKA Razor Emporium - Platinum - Double Edge Blades.. I really like this Razor & Blade combo, efficient, sharp, blade is super sharp. Almost prefect, but noting is perfect. If you do not own a Vintage Gillette, don’t pass opportunity to buy a Vintage Gillette’s DE Razors, IMHO they are wonderful. Shaving tools.

Today again was normal routine, Three Pass Shave, better than NORMAL DFS results, close as could be to a BBS but not BBS. IMHO the REX Platinum is close to those Japanese Blades costing more. This Blade IMHO got High Points for Sharpness, Fair Price, and Longevity, producing many GREAT SHAVES. TECHNIQUE, SHARP BLADE, AND PERFECT LATHER IS KEY TO GOOD SHAVES.

My Soap was Razor Emporium - 2025 Meetup - Limited Edition - Soap Sample, (Scent Profile, Amber, Musk, Patchouli, Leather, Raspberry - Vanilla), smells so great. I got at Arizona Wet Shave Meetup February 2024, at Razor Emporium Shop in Phoenix, Arizona. Like this Soap because you use so little, it is pretty easy to Lather, and it leaves my Face in wonderful condition post Shave. This Soaps Base IMHO is close to PAA’s CK-6, like the 2023, 2025, & 2026 Meetup Edition Soap.

Last let me say I use a Baskin Robbins - 31 Flavors, FREE TASTE Spoon, for my Soap Scoop. Use like a Level Spoon of this Soap scooped into my Shave Bowl, Damp Brush, and about a Full Teaspoon H2O applied by atomizer. THICK CREAMY LATHER is end results. Product is super easy to work with even a Caveman could do it. This Soap does the three things well, Soaps need to do, Wet & Soften Beard, Provide Slick Shave Surface, and last leave Skin nice Post Shave. This Soap Sample hit a home-run for me, it preformed wonderful, if I allow time for Soap veto sit on my Face to do it’s Magic, Beard Softening, before Shaving Off. Not sure this particular Soap will ever became a regular offer from Razor Emporium. Time will tell.

Still using New AliExpress - Chinese Made - Navy Ceramic Lathering Bowl works some much better then the Plastic AliExpress Lathering Bowl with Flower Pattern, this New Lather Bowl was under $7.00, snd I would call it a Best Buy. It sort of poor mans copy of a Captain’s Choice - Ceramic Lather Bowl.

This Vintage Razor, Blade, Soap combo works better than great, for a 70 Year Old Vintage. Correct me if you disagree BUT IMHO IT ALL ABOUT Great Moist Slick Lather that leave Face nice after Shave, and Technique, Technique, Technique, is way more important than SHAVING TOOLS. Never ever will chase BBS, Skin problems, why do I need too? DFS is good enough for me, this Non Tallow Based Soap provided some extra slick to my shave, over all results were DFS.+++.

Merkur 33c three piece razor
Healthy accents double edge blade
Barbasol shaving cream
Gillette aftershave gel
Racing club blue eau de toilette

Hot shower prep with Old Spice Swagger body wash

Bizarre fact: Shaving cream is used to clean up a corpse before dressing them for the trip to the funeral home. Hint: not used on the face

The end of a quiet day with a hot shower and a shave. I didn't trust my lather building skills so I went to the canned foam. Two lathered passes with a better performing blade than I was expecting. It took a double helping of aftershave gel to get the coverage on my face. Racing Club Blue lifted my spirits. I'm not quite back but I am in progress.

Merkur 33c three piece razor Wilkinson stainless steel blade
Van der Hagen deluxe badger brush
Van der Hagen deluxe shaving soap
Care One witch hazel
Clubman aftershave
Racing Club blue eau de toilette

Hot shower prep with Old Spice Swagger body wash

The hot water felt good on my battered body. For an inexpensive off the shelf soap Van der Hagen performs a good workman like job. It's slicker and more cushioning than the best jello or canned foam. I made a solid face lather. The Merkur is an old friend of 20+ years and was my first DE when I started wet shaving. It is both solid clamping and nimble on the face. Two lathered passes are good enough to go about my daily chores. Witch hazel and Clubman finish and a little Racing Club blue to keep me from smelling like every guy walking out of barbershop.

Personal note: My brother passed sunday. I'm not completely back yet. Grief is a process and not a destination but he's no longer in pain and he's with the Lord. I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and support and also for this website that has been a calm place I could go to during this trying time. Thank you all.
My condolences ✨🙏✨

Schick Adjustable M2 > NOS Schick II #1 > Jayaruh 289 Timber Wolf > Old Spice Original
> Electrif's Bay Rum v3 > Aloe Vera Gel

New to me Schick Adjustable generously gifted from across the pond.
I do remember trying a Schick Adjustable many years ago, I think from a pass around using a single blade. At the time I found it to be quite mild and not too efficient.
However I installed a NOS Schick II blade into this one and boy, it transformed the shave.
