Seasonal use of balms vs. splashes

I find in the winter / colder months I really need to use an aftershave balm as opposed to a splash. I find alcohol based splashes too drying. And my skin can really benefit from a moisturizing balm. As we slip into spring (I can feel the warmth in the sun today) I am wondering if your use of aftershaves has a seasonal bias -- balms in colder months and splashes in warmer months?

Yes. But sometimes I use both, also in warmer weather. First splash, then balm.

I don't really pay much attention to that unless I feel my skin has suffered badly because of the shave. If that's the case, then I'll go for the good old Crabtree & Evelyn.

If not, then whatever matches the soap.

I use an alcohol-based aftershave lotion all year round. Balms do little to nothing for me and in most cases leave my face feeling oily. Similarly, I have no use for witch hazel.

I don’t use either. I’ll apply less moisturiser when it’s humid or more regular sunscreen when it’s sunny though.

I was very intrigued. Now I’m meh...

I have no rhyme nor reason to what aftershave I use.
And I also drink Stouts throughout the year so there.....

Having naturally oily skin I only use a balm if I have really buggered up a shave and that happens rarely.
