Just read on another forum that the early Zamak tech caps may have had brass posts/threads. Anyone know if this is true?

Well, after another shave comparison, and trying to pre war on the travel handle, I’m surprised once again as I prefer the travel tech. The pre war even with super light pressure makes my neck a bit raw each time, while the little guy zips around easy and doesn’t irritate at all. The travel tech is noticeably louder. Gives more feedback as they say. I hate to say it…..but this little thing may just become MY razor.

Sounds like this 64 I have is a zamak top cap, brass bottom plate, and brass handle if I'm not mistaken. For being so tiny is certainly has decent weight to it.

From other sources, the handles of the "Travel Tech" were aluminum or steel.
Further investigation into the "Tech" design, Conrad also made solid bar three piece made from gunmetal and Bakelite. Conrad was behind the design of he famed and hard to find Barbasol Floating Head.

Clix made a flat bottom made of "gun metal" and a Bakelite handle. Some think Gillette got their idea for the "Tech" from the outside.
