I'm considering ordering a new Karve razor and would appreciate any info about shipping to the UK. Which method is preferable and has anyone encountered problems this end? Is the limit £135 before taxes come into play?

Is this in reference to the new Royal Mail rules that are coming in on the 7th May? I bought a Blackbird a few months ago with no problems.

That's right. It's the same as any other purchase from outside the UK.

I'm finally getting round to ordering a razor and have a total in CAD of $224 using Canada Post which converts to £124.29 ... I'm particularly paranoid with all this so can I say with pretty much 100% certainty that I won't be getting charged extra at this end by the UK government?? If I used the DHL option the total would be £135.46 which would no doubt bring in a charge!

Any reassurance and comforting words will be most welcome.

I may be wrong but as long as the purchased products are below £135, then you may not get charged by DHL. I dont think shipping costs are included in the total (bought shirts from the U.S and used DHL as shipping)

I don't mind waiting for it as I tend to take forever to get round to ordering stuff.

I wish all better success than I have had, there seems to be a bit of pot luck.

Imported a watch from Singapore, no tax or handling charge on a watch costing over £500 and yet I Imported a sub £50 pen from America and had to pay £10 handling charge to Royal Mail and vat on the value. To make matters worse, they delivered an empty box, seller and carrier all insisted that it was nothing to do with them. You also have to pay the charges before the goods leave the sorting office.

So...my experience is that it is down to luck, I just make compromises now and buy local.
