Alum blocks. + 1 for Salt of The Earth

Apologies if this has been done to death. I am sure there was an earlier thread but can I find it?........ Maybe I am thinking elsewhere.

Anyhow, I know there are many options / favourites out there. I have tried a few and more recently in particular the likes of Osma etc but .

The Salt of the Earth (SOTE) Classic is winning the show for me. I have tried a number of different razors over the last few weeks. This in turn brings more than the usual no of weepers. I have had nothing bad but there are weepers and there are the occasional WEEPERS!!!! As you will know. The SOTE has again today proved hat it will cope instantly with more than the OSMA or similar block can handle. It is not a miracle and will not staunch severed septums of course but....... Why? I do not know but just sharing it if it helps anybody.

Good gear, haven't used it on my face yet but perfect as deoderant. The container makes it far more convenient for travelling than the loose blocks of alum.

I have been using "Naturally Fresh" brand alum twist up deodorant stick after every shave for quite a few years. It is the ammonium version alum. I do a daily 4 pass straight razor shave, rarely get weepers and do not find it the devils work. OTH if you are having trouble getting irritation free shaves I imagine you could find it the devils work. Also people have varying degrees of sensitivity to products put on their faces.
