External Security Cameras

Hey folks,

I’m in the market for an outdoor security camera. Long story short, I have a phantom dog fouler (on my property) and I’d like to see what’s going on.

Any recommendations?

Easy to use, WiFi able, alerts, siren (could be used to scare off??). Wired if that’s better/preferable but wireless if battery tech is good these days.

Any thoughts, or experiences?

Ta,

M

I have just recently installed this:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/263208677598
I cannot believe just how good it is for the money.. just add your own hard disk, power it up and it just works. Simple...
Out of stock :(
I'm in the same boat as the OP, looking for outdoor security cameras. Some doorbells such as 'The Ring' records video as well as operating as a wireless doorbell. Version 2 has HAD video capabilities. Anyone had any experience of these?

Me too. I’m constantly paranoid that something is going to happen to the house but need more of a full system.

Ended up getting the Ring 2 doorbell and have been using it for a month, works well no complaints so far, quite expensive though. Costco have it on offer currently.

Or just put a sign up saying CCTV is in operation within the curtilage. That might stop them....they don't know you have none.

Well my Ring door bell is proving to be very useful caught some prick trying to break into my car at 3am this morning. Sent footage via email to the police in 2 clicks. Glad I purchased this kit.

Let’s hope the cuts have left them with enough manpower to do something about it.

To be honest no damage done or otherwise, so nothing they can really do for me, but at least I have footage incase someone else's car had been broken into. In other words I'm playing good samaritan.

Most of my research suggests that the Ring system is crap but glad to hear that has worked for you.
I can't complain been using it for a year, having switched from the Ring 1 to the Ring 2. Easy to install, use, charge and connect and has saved me a few times, especially with shaving deliveries :)

~Ahh , Maybe Ring 2 is the way to go then.
