I woke up this morning and realized that I don't recognize my musical tastes anymore. During the past year I have come to be a rabid aficionado of Russian men's choirs, Russian folk music, and Mozart's operas. I always liked Mozart's Top of the Pops: Marriage of Figaro, Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, etc., but now I'm listening to the other less-known operas. Is it a sign of impending neurological changes brought about by enforced isolation, or is living in Europe (sort of) enhancing my appreciation of the Old World? Once my wife and I are vaccinated against the 中文 virus, I'm going to drag her to Moscow and St Petersburg.
