Karve SS has landed!

Chris, I also bought the SS Karve (about 2 or 3 years ago now though).
Started with the C and D plates (SB).
Thought "hmmm, nice shave, smooth, maybe take it up a notch".
So, bought the E plate. Hmmm, nice shave, smooth (see a pattern developing here?).
Bought the F and the G plate (figured might as well get them both and save future postage).
The F is my daily now, with the G for those really close shave days.
Still a nice shave, still smooth.
I think you will love your shaves from the SS Karve.
I still use mine every day and the SS Timeless (.68 and .95 OC) sits unused.

I bought a polished D s/s plate Karve on a Black Friday deal 2 years or so back and loved it in use
and stupidly sold it on!! as we do

have since bought no less than 3 more s/s karve ones

(as I personally -have always hated brass bronze or aluminium razors)

so now have 3 complete s/s Karves
and also now have baseplates ranging from AA A B C D
and lately I also added an E plate

mostly I used the D plate
(as my go to razor is my carbon titan in the 1.08 gap ++ baseplate or my ti chiselled face and in 1.12 gap razor)

recently bought no less than 9x wolfmans both wr1 in 0.64 0.74 and in 0,80 cc and open comb and finally wr2 models in 0.95 1.05 1.15 then tried also the 1.25 gapped ones which I liked so I ended up with 2 of them?

so decided I needed to try the Karve in E plate

and to be honest
was delighted how smooth yet superbly efficient the Karve really is

for any one not accustomed to these quite reasonably priced razors?

my advice is go and try one
as you will certainly not be disappointed at all
and you can always change the aggression or efficiency
by simply and quite cheaply-adding more baseplates as your technique allows?

I have owned a few brass and bronze ones
hone 15 in brass and also 2-3 karve in brass

as a retired firearms dealer

I always learnt to hate anything brass, bronze or aluminium?as they degrade -or wear unreasonably
and also smell awful in use?

as an avid watch collector with 300 or so Swiss auto or chrono watches
I think I only have 1x 18ct gold plated model-with an unusual movement in it?

and always avoided buying anything in brass bronze pvd or gold plated

we are all different-

So I speak from my own experience only

so please ignore my personal experiences

if you like it
and it works for you always fine with me-

So, after eight months the Karve is still my daily. I recently bought an OC B plate for it and that’s made it even better! There have been a few occasions recently when I’ve skipped shaving for a few days but the OC plate mows down a four day beard with ease while still being gentle enough to use daily. One of these days I’ll have to compare it to my New LC. I was previously using the SB D if I had a few days' growth as it handled it better than the C, but the OC B might be my Goldilocks plate.

I also still think it’s one of the best-looking razors out there.
