Kakabeka Falls

Sometimes you have to travel to appreciate just what you have in your own backyard. This is true of Kakabeka Falls and about a 1/2-hour drive from where I live. The KB Falls is located in a Provincial Park just off of the TransCanada Hwy. The falls itself is the second highest in Ontario at 40m while Niagara Falls are 50m tall. Fossils found at its base date back to at least 541 million years to the end of the Precambrian period. They are most impressive when viewed during the spring runoff. The river water is brown as are most in our area because of the high levels of tannin in it from the predominately coniferous forest of our area.

Stunning, drones literally add a completely new perspective.
I have quite a few of this fall taken from the ground. It wasn't until I took a ride on an ultralight many years ago and took a few photos from it that how different an aerial perspective was. I think the use of a drone is a much better idea than an ultralight had they been available back then.
