I’d like to amend my choice to MWF. Nothing on this earth gives me the same kind of lather and post-shave as The Fat and as the scent is just mild and soapy it’s not tiring. Inexpensive too. I’ve used it for the last few days with a 30mm Cashmere brush and it’s been outstanding.

Fitjar is a strong contender, but the soap I'm reaching for most often these days is Barbus Classic. Cult Slovakian soap, very MWF kind of scent.

Given that my granddad always used Tabac, I think so yes. He passed away already over thirty years ago (I was 21 then). A great man who valued a good shave.

I reckon I would have to say Meissner Tremonia Moroccan Rhassoul - for scent, performance and post-shave feel. 1st class.
