Literature of sorts....... I dreamed a poem in its entirety last night. Spooky. Does anyone else dream poems or songs? I once dreamed a musical called "Joy Riders". Anyway, here it is...

Latin, Maths 1 and Biology
German and Chemistry
Assembly, chairs and coughing

History, French and Maths 2
Religion and a Study Period
Blackboards, bells and chalk

English Lang and English Lit
Physics and Detention
Exercise books and inky fingers

I live my life behind windows
Will anyone set me free?

It comes up on us suddenly.
Mathematics.
So,a woman will sit staring
at the perfect
spiral made in a spoonful of
chocolate mousse.
Not thinking of geometry
just letting go.
So,a man will marvel at the
parabola
made by a forceful night piss in
a square car park.
Sometimes, though we count on our hands,
we recognise
the fragile Venn diagram of
a Mum,Dad,Kid.
It gives us hope that we accept,
More than any algebra.

The End of the World Running Club, Adrian J. Walker (2014).

edit: read through 45 percent (goodreads says 457 pages) on the first day. A post-apocalyptic page turner.

The Allegory of the Hawk and the Serpent. If you're into financial markets and the current state of Fed policy, this is a fascinating read.

The Storm of Steel: Original 1929 Translation.

I've previously read the modern "Penguin Classics" version which is heavily edited with many of the most interesting passages removed. This 1929 translation is complete and far more readable, there are a few spelling errors but not enough to detract.

Here's some key passages present in this version, many of which are missing from the Penguin one:

A book I have kept coming back to over the last 20 years. My puritan soul revolts against my baroque aesthetic sense.
It stings.
