How much patina is too much?

Would you use this Karve or any DE Razor with this much "patina"?

Looks a totally uncared for razor. If you dismantle after each shave, wash and dry, the Karve will simply darken, uniformly. That patina looks like a use and just leave to dry affair.

Exactly - this just looks like dirt to me. Gradual darkening around areas of limited wear can be quite attractive but not this speckled dirt look. Bleurgh

I would clean it but not polish it, and then get a three inch handle for it.

I've seen a couple of brass razors in SOTDs that have had a darkening solution applied. They look awesome.

I like patina in the right amount and right places. The Karve above looks like it has measles though.

Have it gold plated.

Brass is brown when it's kept clean, patina = green.
