I have two Bedlington Terriers, amazing temperament great with people and kids, they also don't moult which is a big +, they are not that common you should always go for a KC registered and make sure that both parents are genetically CT tested and command 1 clear, and If you like walking they will wear you out they will walk all day long very active breed.
Lovely Jamie, are they originally bred from the North East area, Newcastle or around there?

Did you adopt, or get a puppy?
It is great to adopt, BUT, beware especially if they have a chequered history. Sometimes they are there for a reason, sometimes the reason being they haven’t been trained properly from the beginning and irresponsible owners have dumped them there.

Also don’t believe what the rescue people say. We adopted one once we soon realised that they had stretched the truth. the main one was he was good with kids, he wasn’t and needed to be supervised quite a bit, he nearly had my daughter face once. The last straw was when he snapped one day and attacked Fred. We had to shove a chair between them to get him off, truly horrific ! We took him back to the Dogs Trust and when they put him on line they made him sound like the ideal dog, and lied about his behaviour with other dogs.

If you get a pup you can mould them and train them from day one.

Trained not to snatch from day one.

Just gave Fred a Cheese Mini Cheddar. Offered it up and he gently raise mouth to take it. I hold on and don’t let go and he releases. That’s the beauty of having him from a pup. I always us to not release then release and plenty of praise. If I’d have kept a hold he would of kept releasing.

Some of the sweetest dogs I know were rescue animals. My brother and wife foster Golden Retrievers - most have been good dogs. My neice is a failure as a foster parent - she keeps the Bassett Hounds fosters. A few neighbors have excellent rescue dogs - Ruby really likes me and would win any tail wagging contest.

There have also been some disasters as rescue dogs. Some rescue dogs are a victim of abuse and lack of care. For many, there is a reason the dog is in a shelter. Let the rescue dog choose you and your family.

If looking for breed specific, puppy or perhaps breed foster home. Puppies are fun. Dogs are family.
