Continuing from our original pass around (https://www.atgshaving.com/threads/...-list-for-new-base-plates-check-thread.14991/)

Most of us have already tried this highly regarded razor, but now we have an exciting opportunity to test two new base plates. Our feedback will be considered by Sean at Carbon Shaving. A good opportunity to thank him, once again for his generosity. Thank you Sean.

From Sean:
We have 2 new base plates that we are planning to test both with
different blade exposures and blade gaps. We only made a few, we are
planning to share with some current customers but thought of trying to
add them to the current pass around'

'No plans to replace the current Cx configuration but based on the
feedback, including those on the pass around, people love options!'

And some more:
Thanks for the extra time to respond Avnish...we have been in the shop
non stop finishing up more units. We also just finished up a very small
run of these new base plates.

I have attached some photos of the 2 new base plates but here are some
specifics:

Current Cx gap: .68mm

Plus/+ gap: .88mm

2Plus/++ gap: 1.08mm

What we also did with these base plates, is we reduce exposure as we
increased gap...however the "++" gap is still positive.

When discussing and quantifying "blade exposure" we are talking a very
small measurement, it becomes difficult to claim this with any amount of
accuracy. The blade choice can swing this number, debris on the razor
can swing this number...for this(and competitive reasons) we haven't
communicated this metric. However .15mm would be a good approximation
for discussion. To put this into perspective a human hair is about
.04-.1mm...

I'll send your units on Monday...the reason I suggested 2 sets was I was feeling bad for the folks that just received the Cx on the current passaround. My thought was to get a set to them...

So once again thanks to Sean's generosity we will have 2 sets of the new base plates shown below:

Usual rules apply. Please post the razor set and new base plates complete, via signed for special delivery, owner should be in a position to cover any cost should the razor be lost or damaged. Try and send the razor to the next participant promptly and most of all enjoy! A short review of your experiences would also be gratefully received.

This is not secluded to UK only members, however to keep postage costs to a minimum, the user list may need to be modified. This pass around is open to full members only (members with access to BST). Please also disinfect all parts/entire razor and other included products before posting. Thank you.

On completion the sets will be returned back to Sean at Carbon Shaving.

Just found some Info on the new baseplates on a neighboring forum:

„Detail are as follows:

Current Cx gap: .68mm
Plus/"+" gap: .88mm
2Plus/"++": 1.08mm

What we also did with these plates is we reduced exposure as we increased gap...however they all remain positive exposure.“

The + plate sounds very promising!

My understanding is that the blade exposure for the original CX is between C and D on the Karve scale, i.e. 0.09 to 0.13mm

Well chaps I have paid the ransom of approx £80 to customs a week ago but I haven't had a chance to pick up the new plates as our postal office is only open between 7am-9am and am still working. Will update if and when I do pick them up.

Thank you for the offer but I am happy to cover the fees, I organised the passaround and therefore my responsibility.
Hey Nishy how are you, I'm new to ATG, I was just wondering how I do become a fully fledged member with all access. Thank you so much Mate.
