i've had both done before a fair few times but not with fire and glass cups and with plastic cups and suction guns, which is essentially the same theory behind it,
its really helped with migraines before but im getting migraines again so im hoping to get it done soon again,
i did have it done on my head in a fair few different positions to help with migraines

honestly when you see all the blood coming out with wet cupping you think what the hell no way im getting that lol,
but honestly it doesnt really hurt, for me its relaxing but how find it a bit uncomfortable

i've noticed its growing in popularity a lot, with a lot of famous boxers and athletes getting it done too

And where's the science behind this? What exactly is 'BAD' blood? And given that blood is pumped around the body, how does bleeding a specific location work?

Not a great endorsement as far as I'm concerned, esp. boxers who keep getting thumped in the head!

Tbh it's been done for hundreds of years and I don't know the full in's and out's of it but apparently it's supposed to be a direct you way of getting toxins out of the body,
I don't know the science behind it but it defo helps me, don't think it's a placebo because nothing worked for my migraines apart from cupping

Well not just boxers that was just an example that came to mind as boxers need to be very strong physically anyways other athletes like Neymar the Brazilian footballers have had it done apparently too, and it's sort of trending now but I got it done like in 2009, so that was many years ago before when there wasn't as many cupping therapists out there

Was more wondering if anyone on the forum had it done too?

The method may be different but the idea behind it seems the same as old fashioned "bloodletting".

yea essentially its a bit like leech therapy (vid below) but with plastic suction cups, or with glass cup using the fire method, ive never had that one done

tbh i wouldnt be keen on the glass method because ive no idea how they'd steralize it tbh but with the plastic ones they are just disposable

Glass is very easy to sterilise. Leeches had no medical benefit in the Middle Ages and they still don’t. Having said that there have been successful trials using maggots to clean wounds. That’s probably outside the scope of this thread however as it works.
