80s Music?

Five Star were supposed to be Britains answer to the Jackson 5, they weren't. In the 80's there were lots of electronica around on the fringes. Bands like The Human League, The Normal, Fad Gadget, Devo, Japan and Early Cure stuff was really good and far removed from the gooey Pink pop offered on TOTP's. Bauhaus were another great 80's band. If you don't know them, check 'em out. Bella Lugosi's dead is an 80's classic.

I saw Bauhaus live too in the Warehouse Leeds. Great show. I've seen most of the greats of the time there. Southern Death Cult, They turned into The Cult originally from Bradford, Sisters of Mercy, Leeds, Spear of Destiny, Sex Gang Children, Tears for Fears, Icicle works, Frankie goes to hollywood, Fad Gadget, and lots and lots more. Lost count.

I thought the 80s was generally dreadful for music, however I liked
The Jesus and Mary chain
The pogues
Billy Bragg
The redskins
Half man half biscuit
The cult
The cramps
And the first two marillion albums
